Better known as the free partner dance style, or California’s state dance, the West Coast Dance is a type of modern Swing Dance. It involves a lot of fun rhythm changes and playful syncopations. Unlike the east coast dance style performed to big band, 1920’s style music, West Coast can be done to R&B, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and blues and Top 40 songs.

It is flexible and allows personal expression for both the lead and the follow. The beauty of this dance is, it can catch the rhythm of each music and synchronize it with its dance steps.
